Nearly 20 years in the making, Huong’s Peace Mural is the culmination of 30 years of searing memories that bring history to life and depicts the universal pain of war and hope for peace. The Peace Mural is an ongoing, developing project as new themes continue to be added. As part of the Peace Mural, artist Huong designed the Global Warming Mural, which stems from the Gulf BP Oil Spill mural that she designed in 2010. It includes an artistic arrangement of panels created to illustrate the environmental devastation that global warming is causing on our planet. It also expresses many of the effects of global warming that are unknown by the public. The mural includes the quotes, thoughts, and ideas of individuals and groups that are a part of the global movement to stop climate change. It helps to educate the public on an issue that has been ignored for far too long.
