Event Description

This evening’s program, hosted by Peace Action Montgomery, is convened in the name of some 30 organizations that are part of a coalition to "Make Montgomery a Peace County." One of their priorities has been a campaign called
Bring the Guard Home, an ongoing effort to engage local and state political leaders in efforts to bring home the Maryland National Guard.

The Warmongers’s Wake will be a unigue celebratory event in the vein of a “New Orleans” style funeral, to include a ceremonial and symbolic burying of:
* Guantanamo;
* Preemptive war;
* The unpatriotic Patriot Act;
* War Profiteering;
* Torture by any name;

Local Peace leaders will be invited to speak. There will be food and beverages, live entertainment, an audio-visual presentation, and an interactive activity involving the Peace Mural. Reservations are required. See contact information.
