We welcome the good folks from Little Friends for Peace for a second family event. Today's event will feature a songfest by Little Friends for Peace Camp musician Mary Shapiro. She will then lead a Peace Train Parade from the Peace Mural Exhibition to Georgetown Shops, two blocks away.
The fun starts at 12:30 when children of all ages (adults too!) are invited to enter Santa's workshop in the activity room in the rear of the Peace Mural Exhibition. The folks from Little Friends for Peace will have the materials to help you construct your own Peace Train Car. Then, you'll get to ride your own car in the Peace Train Parade around the Peace Mural exhibition and on over to Georgetown Shops.
ADMISSION: There is no charge; Guests are invited to offer a free-will donation to help cover costs of this exhibition and to support the ongoing work of the Peace Mural Foundation;
Little Friends for Peace is a Mom-Dad team led by Mary Joan and Jerry Park who are dedicated to teaching non-violence skills to young children with playful skillbuilding activities and training adult and teen leaders to do the same. They believe that acts of violence from playground put-downs, to family fights, to street crime, to international conflicts build on each other, from the ground up, like a house constructed off-balance—over time and mostly unknowingly. The way to break down violence is to learn peace at an early age . . . and to practice it at every age. Their goal is simple: start early, take a few bricks out and put a few new bricks in their place. It can be fun and it can make a house new, strong and balanced.

How simple it has been for us to easily be wrapped up in the small and insignificant things and forget how many people suffer and how easy it would be for us to suffer. Anonymous
