Nonviolent Peaceforce is a nonpartisan unarmed peacekeeping force composed of trained civilians from around the world. In partnership with local groups, Nonviolent Peaceforce members apply proven nonviolent strategies to protect human rights, deter violence, and help create space for local peacemakers to carry out their work.
A new Washington, DC Chapter of the U.S. Nonviolent Peaceforce Chapters Association will help to make Nonviolent Peaceforce's goal of large-scale nonviolent peacekeeping a reality and help create a sustainable peace throughout the world. We will spread the word about Nonviolent Peaceforce by advocating with the United States Congress, organizing events for the public, and creating a media presence.
The organizing meeting will include information about Nonviolent Peaceforce and provide the tools for us to start the chapter in DC.
