Event Description

UPDATE: This film will be screened again on Tuesday evening, Jan. 20th, during the People's Peacemaker's Inauguration Party. The party begins at 7pm. The film will be shown later in the evening, approximately 11pm.

In collaboration with BelleMoon Productions LLC, the Peace Mural Foundation is honored to showcase a "sneak preview" of Closer to the Dream, an engaging and compelling documentary about the "Obama Movement" as seen through the inspirational stories of ordinary Americans all across the country, as they put democracy back on track.

Franco-American filmmaking couple, Guetty Felin and Hervé Cohen, together with their two sons Yeelen and Joakim, have brought a unique cultural and international perspective to a campaign road movie on the improbable run of Barack Obama to becoming President of the United States. The strength of this inspiring film lies in its insider and outsider perspectives and its testimony to the resilience of the American people and their desire to engage the country in a bold new direction.

Film runs 100 minutes. The screening will be followed with a Q&A with the filmmakers and a reception with wine, compliments of the French Embassy.

Admission to this event is included in the $15 Donation/Admission to see the Peace Mural on this day. ($5 Students) Please note that there are no advanced ticket reservations for this film. Seating available on first come-first served basis.
